The association of data scientists & data engineers

Our Mission

The Association of Data Scientists and Data Engineers is devoted to advancement of data science, Artificial Intelligence, data engineering and data governance.  The two primary focus of the association are two fold: 

1) to promote socially responsible and safe research in AI and Data Science, and 

2) to support the community by providing volunteering, charity work, tutoring and coaching to disadvantaged but aspiring data scientists and AI engineers.

In 2023, our members participated in 1,000’s of hours of community service in STEM education, tutoring, career development, and presentations to aspiring data scientists.

By joining your professional association, you strengthen the social bonds and networking in the community.  Your can make a difference in the lives of others, by letting leaders hear your point of view and by supporting junior members who aspire to make contributions to the advancement of data science, data engineering and AI. 

Together, we can present a united front and influence the regulatory, commercial and government entities to promote safe and responsible data science and AI. 

Our Core Values

We promote and conduct research in ethical, responsible and trustworthy AI. Our research projects are designed to benefit the society at large. We believe that:

  • AI research must be conducted on ethical and responsiblle manner such that it does not cause harm
  • Data science and AI development must be trustworthy and consider human in the loop by design
  • Data scientists and AI leaders support the junior and aspiring members of the community. In particular help the disadvantaged, aspiring students to reach their goal of becoming data scientists through teaching, tutoring and coaching
